September is REALTOR® Safety Month, and it’s a good time to make sure you’re taking advantage of every tool available to keep yourself safe in the field.
ForewarnⓇ is a prospect intelligence tool available to all licensed agents with a Canopy MLS subscription at no additional cost. It allows you to verify a prospect’s identity using just a phone number, giving you access to criminal history, bankruptcies, liens, and address history — before you meet with someone for the first time.
LOTSAR members have used it locally. It has flagged serious criminal histories before agents ever met those prospects in person.
How to Get Set Up
Visit canopyrealtors.com/forewarn and set up your account using the same email address and mobile phone number that appear on your Matrix profile — they must match. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you’re ready to go.
If your contact information in Matrix isn’t current, update it in two places — through the RAMCO portal on your Canopy Dashboard, and through the LOTSAR Change Form at lotsar.org/membership/board-member-add-change-form. Changes can take a few hours to sync, so wait until the following day to activate your account.
